Biggest ever refurbishment completed at Clifton Suspension Bridge

Two and a half years of work protected 4,000 hand-painted chain links and added sustainable lighting

• A multi-million pound refurbishment of Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge has been completed, marking the end of two and a half years of work that began in April 2024. • Specialist engineers from Taziker hand-painted more than 4,000 original iron chain links in the largest refurbishment ever undertaken on Brunel's famous span, and a new environmentally sustainable lighting system was installed. • Bridge master Tristan Ralph said the project secures the structure for the next 20 to 25 years.
