Volunteers plant 109,000 trees across Lancashire

• More than 1,200 volunteers have planted over 109,000 trees in new Lancashire woodlands in the past year, the equivalent of 154 football pitches, plus 61 new orchards and 17 micro-forests. • Over two planting seasons the Lancashire Woodland Partnership has planted almost 500,000 trees and more than 27,000 metres of hedges. • A county councillor said the woodlands support wildlife and wellbeing and help tackle climate change.
