Missing German WW2 U-boat found off Devon 82 years on
• A German submarine that went missing during World War Two has been identified 82 years on, around 20 miles (32km) off Salcombe in Devon. • Divers from the Plymouth-based Gasperados team confirmed the wreck as U-672 after it was discovered by a Portland deep-sea diving team in August at a depth of about 230ft (70m). • The vessel was attacked by HMS Balfour in July 1944 and scuttled by its 52 crew, all of whom survived; an incorrect position in the navy log meant it was not found until recently.
