Burnham pledges £900m for homelessness amid drive to end rough sleeping
• Andy Burnham is to double spending on ending rough sleeping to almost £900m by the end of the current parliament, with a further £432m commitment in this week's budget. • The new sum is on top of an initial £442m from Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government budgets to be allocated before March 2027. • 'Rough sleeping isn't a fact of life,' the prime minister said ahead of a Downing Street summit on Monday bringing together charities and businesses.
