Man jumps from window to escape Bonfire Night fire at Finsbury Park takeaway

• A man jumped from a first-floor window to escape a blaze above a takeaway restaurant on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park at around 4pm on Bonfire Night; he was treated for minor injuries and taken to hospital. • Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackled the fire, which damaged a second-floor flat and the roof, while about eight others were evacuated from the building. • The fire was under control by 8.25pm; the cause remains under investigation and Seven Sisters Road was closed between Holloway Road and Finsbury Park station.
